What sticks out?
- Oklahoma first place vote
I had Oklahoma at 1 in my week 5 poll, and it’s encouraging to see I’m not alone. One of few teams with multiple ranked wins, they deserve it in my opinion.
- Miami at 2
They didn’t look all too great against a bad Florida team, and they move up to 2nd for it. Plus, their win over Notre Dame is looking less and less impressive, they are overrated.
- Illinois still ranked
The 63-10 loss to IU is one of the more embarrassing things that has happened this college football season, they deserve to be completely taken out of the rankings for that.
- LSU at 4
The Clemson win looks very mid at this point, and if you look at what else LSU has done, there is just no way they’re a top 5 team, and definitely not the best team in the SEC.
Who got left out?
- Mississippi State
Once again, the Bulldogs should have been ranked. Certainly instead of Illinois after what they just went through, but there’s also multiple other teams I would put them in instead of.
- Memphis
A 4-0 American team with a win over an SEC opponent deserves some praise. Rank the Tigers.
Overrated teams
- Notre Dame
How are they going to keep the 1-2 Irish in the top 25 after letting Purdue get 30 on them? It’s just a joke, why does the AP love Notre Dame?
- Miami
I’m sorry but putting Miami as the 2nd team in the country is just plain stupid. They’ve beat 3 mid teams, Florida, USF, and Notre Dame, and didn’t look great in 2 of those games.
- LSU
The Clemson win does not look impressive anymore, and the Florida win doesn’t either. Why on earth are they at 4?
Underrated teams
- Oregon
In my opinion Oregon has a case to be number 1. We’ll see who they really are this Saturday, but they should be in the top 5.
- Oklahoma
Similar to Oregon, Oklahoma could be number 1 and I wouldn’t complain about it (I think they should be). So at the very least, put them in the top 5.
- Indiana
The Hoosiers put the belt to a top 10 team on Saturday, why are they not in the top 10? That doesn’t make sense to me.
