KEN'S CORNER

This is the section highlighting my collaboration with my father, who is a retired sports journalist and lifelong NBA (especially 76ers) fan.  He started out as a writer for the Kansas City Star* NHL Beat during the Nixon administration and was later a Copy Editor for the sports department of the Philadelphia Inquirer*.

I am excited to do a project with my dear old Dad, and thankfully I can run NBA statistics with spreadsheets because he’s too forgetful to keep track of his abacus.

Kenneth S. Rudnick is a proud old-school Boomer!!

  • Hates “cute” grammatically incorrect expressions (hence the strikethrough above)

  • Thinks smartphones should be called “dumbphones” because they make us stupider

  • Refuses to use online billpay and balances his checkbook by hand

  • Is appalled by most current music and thinks rap music is detrimental to society

  • Started out playing tennis with a wooden racket at sleepaway camp

  • Listened to Major League Baseball on the radio before Black & White TV

  • Watched fights at Madison Square Garden when boxing was a top-3 sport

  • Remembers when the majority of Americans weren’t obese and idiotic
